Going for the Trifecta
Another weekend, another drinking session. Yep, we were going for the trifecta- three weekends in a row. This session started by accident- truly.
After work on Friday, Heidi and i decided we needed a drink. Off to the pub to sit in the lounge bar. After a de-brief, we got an invite for tea from Bron, Emma and Sarah. Off to Billy’s for chinese. Then to Dan and Melinda’s place to re-fuel and to play “Smart Ass”- a board game. V.funny.
Sarah drove us down to the pub again and for a bit there wasn’t much going on. After a few cardonay’s and some cougar & coke a few more locals drifted in.
I chatted to people from school again, played pool (well- more like attempted) and as far as i can remember held some decent conversations. Mr Average made an appearance and we actually introduced ourselves this time, but I still don’t remember his name!!
Then at 12:30am- “PARTY AT THE BLUE HOUSE!” Heidi and I cordially invited the remaining people at the bar to party with us- no takers. No probs, we would troop on without them. We got a ride back in a two door car, of which someone tried to undo the “back door” to hop in- with no success. Emma found a biro and started drawing- on me!
Back at the Blue House, we cranked up the tunes and danced for a while. Around 2:30am, we made some vegemite and cheese toast, then hopped into bed.
Highlights of the evening: Eating fruit tingles for entree, discussions of marriage material, the choccies in Heidi’s bed, Emma’s elegant stair descent and “We love you Bron, nah we really do…pfft (add laughing)!!!”
I’ve got new hair!
I was really sick of my hair…so i decided to do something about it. A friend at work recommended i try her hairdresser and she was right! The whole process was pretty expensive, but worth it in the end. She actually listened to what i wanted and came pretty close. I’m not as blonde as i used to be, but that’s ok i think.
My old hair colour had blonde and brown foils, which was ok (see below)

And my new colour is closer to my natural colour with blonde highlights (also see below)

The new me…with a lot shorter hair! The pic is a bit dark, but i think you can tell it’s pretty short (for me anyways). My aunty will have a fit when she see’s me- but stiff. I’m waiting for it to settle a bit (my hair always gets upset just after it has been cut) but it will be great when it has. So, in conclusion, i think i’ll be going back to the same hairdresser again. Byyee.
Happy Birthday Sarah!
Two weeekends in a row we have celebrated Sarah’s b’day. First with a fondue party (yum choc fondue) and second (this weekend just gone) a party at home. We had the best fun. The first party, was a quiet affair with some of the girls from work. I hadn’t been to a fondue party before (yes a sheltered life i know…) and i listened carefully to the instructions. I soon got the hang of it and before i knew it was cooking up a storm with my bits of pork and chicken. Yum.
The second party was a little louder (sorry neighbours) and involved some serious “Vienna Blood” drinking. Alanna brought it back from her holiday and it did actually taste like floor polish…hmmn.
We had a BBQ tea and then busted some serious moves in the lounge- around and on the coffee table. And it all came to a head when we heard a song from the Hibisus Night Club in Fiji. We took a gamble and decided to head to the Bridge for a look-see. Here’s how we got there….

Yep. A cop car. But no we weren’t in trouble, Sarah’s mate got us a lift so we din’t have to walk! Saw my sister and her boyfriend out and also some people from school. Had a few drinks, met “Mr Average” while picking a song for the jukebox and my cousin offered me a lift home- no taxi fees! So all in all a great night.
Good morning 4/5!
Yep, that’s what i say now on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. And usually i get back “Good Morning Mrs Breadmore”. Geez, that’s my ma, not me! I’ll have them organised by the end of the year…
School is going well and the kids are really lovely. Team teaching is working out great so far and it’s just great being busy (although i might whinge about it later….don’t say i din’t warn ya). Our classroom layout is better (no more kids saying “I can’t see the board!”) and i’m bringing another peace lilly in to “green things up a bit”. In saying all that- come Easter and we’re moving rooms! We will have new desks, bigger classrooms and that lovely fresh paint smell. Not to mention moving the entire contents of one room across the courtyard in my Easter break. No worry- it will be worth it in the end.

Here are some shots of the room. One is of my messy desk.
Ooh man I lurve da cake…
Howdy. Thought i’d drum up business through the blog. Here a some piccies of my cakes. Enjoy…
So, there you have it…some of my many creations. There are other ones too, so stay tuned!!! Also have some kids party cakes i’ve done too.
You come to the beach for a Fijian Time…
After my little break i’m back with news from my holiday. The trip to Fiji was great and we had a blast. After settling into our rooms (3 early risiers in one room and 2 “not morning people” in another) we went exploring.
The resort was beautiful! You wouldn’t have to leave if you didn’t want to, and we were most happy to stay!! We got busy doing what we were there for- lounging near the pool!!

Bread, Alanna and Sarah taking it easy on the banana lounges.
We did get involved in other activities at the resort, like: snorkelling, pool volleyball, mini golf, glass bottom boat trip and a shopping trip to Sigatoka. Sarah even went to the gym! We even squeezed in some Nanna naps in between being so busy and trying to keep up with all the food the staff kept rolling out.
We also went to a Fijian cultural experience night which included fire walking and a dinner and show put on by the village people (Not quite YMCA, but good enough). Heidi and Alanna had a go of Karva (muddy water drink) and then we all grabbed a partner for some “hip swinging” and Alanna danced with a huge Fijian fella.

Fire Walking show- watch those grass skirts!
Jess and I ventured off to the Ecopark while the other girls did an island day trip. No sooner had we walked in the door, I had three iguanas on me.
Striped Iguana
And then there we had New Years- which was awesome! The Warwick staff really know how to do a party when it’s needed. We had Fijian dancers and buff dudes fire dancing and knife throwing. Heidi and I were particularly taken with the groups tattoos! We had a huge meal and danced up in the Hibiscus Niteclub. Also had a New Years swim after watching the amazing fireworks and met some oldies who had jumped into the pool, fully clothed to celebrate!
New Years in Fiji- Get your girls out…
So, in conclusion we had a kick ass time! Then it was back to Sydney and for Alanna and Sarah to head to the UK. Whilst in Sydney we did what anyone in a big city would do- we shopped till we dropped. After spending ages in Myer looking at facinators and headbands and getting some dresses for Heidi we were done and could relax. And then Jess and i scored a direct flight home to Launnie instead of waiting in Melb for a connecting flight.
So, for anyone thinking about going to Fiji- do go, it’s excellent. I’ll post a few more comments later.
In Fiji!!!
Well, we made it safe and sound! Only a short delay in Sydney, but then down to serious holiday business….sitting by the pool!
It was very late when we got to the Warwick- after a 1hr 30min bumpy coach ride- but we had a swim and got some food, via room service. Getting through customs was awful. Hot and huge line up.
Everyone is very friendly and we now say : “Bula” instead of hello!
Not planning a huge range of activities, but it is lovely to sit in the sun (for me with sunscreen) and have a lovely breeze. I’m working on my tan!!!
Holiday
Not long now… On the 26th December i’m heading off to Fiji with some girlfriends for a week. We are all getting excited and have even made T-Shirts to celebrate! I haven’t packed a thing but I’m guessing the weekend will be plenty enough time. Not that i’ll fit into anything after Christmas Day food! After Fiji, a few of us are staying in Sydney for a week and the other girls are going to the UK for the holidays.
Check out our resort in Fiji… (note the swim up bar)

The Warwick Resort & Spa
I’m hoping I can deal with the hot weather and don’t get too sunburnt. New Years should be fun too there is a big New party and us girls are all in!!
End of the Working Week

Ever get the “snowed in” feeling?
It’s Friday and i’m feeling sleepy. I’m at the Cluster Office today and have just finished dismantling my archive box castle from around my desk. I’ll be glad to not have to file another thing ever!!
Hello world!
